Window Through the Rock
Big Bend National Park in Texas, which extends to the banks of the Rio Grande River, forms a crossroad between two nations, the United States and Mexico. Its location is remote, and consequently is often overlooked by travelers visiting the surrounding more populated areas. The park is a place of rare beauty, however. Moonrise Over the Mesa
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park lies in the heart of Navajo country. You may remember parts of the park from the many westerns that were filmed there. It embodies the essence of the west. In this photograph, the moon is rising over the mesa in the distance. Portal to Eternity
Arches National Park in the American southwest is home to many amazing rock formations. Hiking along the trails is almost to look back in time. It is not just that you can actually see the vestiges left by past eras in the strata of the cliffs, but also that the arches themselves seem to transport you to another time.
