Essence of Spirit by Christine

I'm Christine, and this is a collection of paintings, drawings, and pictures of life as I see it… the collection started when I turned 50 years old. I have always been creative as it relates to drawing, music and writing starting at a very young age. I only began the reinvention of my artwork after a long career in human relations and psychology. These interpretations seen and heard through my artwork are indeed the essence of spirit as I see and hear the world.

Following Darwin
This painting of my dog, Darwin, was initially a photo I took of him in autumn 2017, while we were walking in a nature preserve in Palo Alto, California. A few days after I took this photo, I had to nurse Darwin back to health after he became ill for a few days, and luckily, he recovered and bounced back to good health. The painting was done during that time, and during the process I was thinking about the life of my dog, who I can say today is still by my side at 11 years old. Copyright © 2017 by Christine Tomberg. Complex Face
This charcoal was done in a drawing class in the spring of 2018. I was reminded of my internship work as a therapist when I chose to put these face blocks together in a still life depiction. Trumpet Vine
…along the path while walking on an island, I found a trumpet flower… later on the path I found two colorful autumn leaves at my feet, and picked up the colorful trio to bring to my picture and paint room… and the result was this watercolor painting. An American Pie
This is my very first acrylic which I created in the spring of 2019. I gave the original to someone treasured in my life who helped me through difficult life challenges. It’s a flower, it’s a color palette, it’s a UFO!!!! Whatever you want it to be!!! This original was framed on March 14th 2019.
